THE TUNING FORK (diapasón) and THE METRONOME (metrónomo)

A tuning fork is a metallic object that helps us to tune instruments in orchestras and voices in choirs. 
Un diapasón es un objeto metálico que sirve para afinar instrumentos y las voces de un coro. 

When we hit it against a surface, it emits the note LA or A. 
Si lo golpeamos contra una superficie emite la nota LA.

A metronome is a device that produce a regular beat. We use it to keep the tempo steady while we are playing or singing.
Un metrónomo es un aparato que produce un pulso regular. Lo usamos para mantener el tempo constante mientras tocamos o cantamos.
